My friends and I have often made jokes about guys who use excessive amounts of hair-gel, have an overinflated ego and not only enjoy techno music, but have an arsenal of ridiculous dance moves in which to accompany to the song. But if there were a best of the best...a douche bag Olympics, if you will VH1's Tool Academy would be it. The "men" on this show are completely ridiculous and how they even have girlfriends is beyond me. How they have not been just offed, whether by their own stupidity or a stampede of women who refuse to be subjected to their sleazy ways is beyond me. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoy this show. Here are just some of the reasons.
1.) The majority of the men have appointed themselves "alter-egos" or nicknames. I know what your thinking, I thought a nickname was given to someone?? No, no! You see, if you feel your real name is insufficient you can amp it up to show how cool you really are. Examples: Clarence becomes Celebrity, Ryan becomes Matsuflex. What does it mean? Who cares! It reeks of masculine energy and you immediately become a winner in every ones eyes.
2.) They have legitimate, pretty and normal girlfriends. Girls who don't seem to have suffered any serious head injury so why they are still with the guys is beyond me. Throughout the different challenges they guys confess their love for these resilient, mildy retarded girls. But not without referring to them as "dude." Nothing wins a girls heart like the phrase "Dude, you know I love you." Please God, let that one day be me.
