Marilyn Monroe is no doubt an icon for all things beautiful, glamorous but also, tragic. The drop-dead gorgeous actress lead a life full of loneliness, plagued by insecurities and finally, cut her own life tragically short. While I understand why people could admire her beauty and star power I have a hard time understanding why people would want to emulate her. Lindsay Lohan has often made references to herself and how "Marilyn Monroe"-esque she is.
Let's compare :
Marilyn Monroe-FULL-figured beauty
Lindsay Lohan-twiggy coke whore
Marilyn Monroe-Dated some of the hottest, most powerful men in the world
Lindsay Lohan-Dated a man-ish girl
Marilyn Monroe-Made now classic movies
Lindsay Lohan-Made now bargin bin flicks
Hardly similar.
Lets face it Lindsay Lohan is a hot-mess that is certain, but an iconic hot-mess? I think not. Recently dumped Lohan tattooed a quote from Monroe on her wrist that says; "Everyone's a star and deserves the right to twinkle." Honestly I think modeling yourself after someone who obviously suffered from severe depression and met such a tragic fate is just too sad.
