Summer is fast approaching!

Summer is never an easy time for pasty folks like myself. While my friends frolic in shorts, the shortest I go is Capri's. Despite the teasing, I REFUSE to tan. The benefits do not outweigh the costs in this trade off! Wrinkles, cancer?? No thanks, I'll age gracefully :) But after buying a new bathing suit this weekend I decided that I didn't want to face another summer of being the cream next to my Oreo friends. In high school I was a cheerleader and often spray-tanned or used Jergen's gradual tanning lotion. Spray-tanning works great but its alot of work. You have to go get sprayed, wait to dry (which can take several hours) then not shower for about 12 hours. The tan solution has a distinct smell to it and your tan gradual darkens while you dry-it get DARK! Last summer when I did I became as dark as my little Native cousins...and they had been tanning! Luckily, when you get in the shower most of it rinses off leaving you with a very natural tan. But again, that is a whole day long process and with school, work and well..a life I just don't have time to do that all summer. The tan lasts about 2-4 weeks. While I've never had a problem I've had friends' tans become very splotchy near the end. It makes you look like you have a skin disease!! Anyway, After purchasing my swimsuit I became inspired to try some diffrent self tanners again. I looked online, reading many consumer websites about the best/worst. I decided to try Dove Glow. I really like Dove products, they work great on my sensitive skin. I went home and throughly exfoliated-tops of my feet, elbows, chest, arms, legs, everything! Then I applied the tanner. Unlike Jergens, this lotion smelled really good! Not at all like tanner. After only three days I noticed results! I'm not orange at all! The tops of my feet and toes look even and not at all streaky. Although self-tanner isn't fool proof (its a little tough to get an all-around tan like on your back.)
